     On page 1, after line 8, insert the following:

     "(2) "Habitable structure" means a building or edifice of any kind, including a public building, that is constructed and used or intended to be used for human occupancy."

 

Renumber the subsections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.

     On page 2, line 16, after "wholesaler" strike "for use" and insert "intended for use in a habitable structure"

 

     On page 2, line 20, after "added" insert "and which is intended for use in a habitable structure"

 


EFFECT:  Limits the applicability of the fire retardant standard to upholstered furniture that is intended for use in a habitable structure.  A "habitable structure" is a building constructed and used, or intended to be used, for human occupancy.
