BACKGROUND:

 

There are two fisheries agencies in the state of Washington, the Department of Fisheries and the Department of Wildlife.  Most other states have a single fish and wildlife agency.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Legislative Budget Committee is directed to study the feasibility of merging the Departments of Fisheries and Wildlife, and to report to the Legislature by January 1, 1993.
