     AN ACT Relating to state civil and higher education employees; adding a new section to chapter 28B.16 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 41.06 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28B.16 RCW to read as follows:

     All higher education institutions and post secondary institutions shall provide paid leave for employees subject to this chapter who are in training or on call as volunteer fire fighters, law enforcement officers, search and rescue team members, or emergency medical technicians.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 41.06 RCW to read as follows:

     All state agencies and departments shall provide paid leave for employees subject to this chapter who are in training or on call as volunteer fire fighters, law enforcement officers, search and rescue team members, or emergency medical technicians.
