AN ACT Relating to retirement system benefits; adding a new section to chapter 41.32 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 41.40 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 41.32 RCW to read as follows:
(1) Every member of the retirement system receiving a retirement allowance who is eligible for medicare part B benefits as determined under 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1395(o) shall upon application to the department receive an increase in the retirement allowance equal to the amount of the monthly premium the member is required to pay for medicare part B benefits as determined under 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1395(r).
(2) The department shall adopt rules to determine eligibility for the additional allowance under this section and to prescribe application procedures.

(1) Every member of the retirement system receiving a retirement allowance who is eligible for medicare part B benefits as determined under 42 U.S.C.
