AN ACT Relating to the veterans' programs or charities; and adding a new section to chapter 43.60A RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 43.60A RCW to read as follows:
The department of veterans affairs is authorized to examine fund-raising activities in which charitable solicitations are made for veterans' programs or charities, and to issue orders prohibiting any person or organization from engaging in any activities that the department finds to be false, misleading, or deceptive. This authority is in addition to, and does not affect or impair, the authority of the secretary of state or the attorney general under chapter 19.09 RCW.
