AN ACT Relating to land purchases and exchanges; adding a new section to chapter 77.12 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 79.08 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 77.12 RCW to read as follows:
No purchase or exchange of land by the department of wildlife that involves land that has been a tax-paying parcel shall be made unless, as a result of the purchase or exchange, property of equal or greater tax value is returned to the county where the majority of the land to be taken by the state is located.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. A new section is added to chapter 79.08 RCW to read as follows:
No purchase or exchange of land by the department of natural resources that involves land that has been a tax-paying parcel shall be made unless, as a result of the purchase or exchange, property of equal or greater tax value is returned to the county where the majority of the land to be taken by the state is located.
