AN ACT Relating to making capital appropriations for the Washington library for the blind and physically handicapped; creating a new section; and making an appropriation.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.      The legislature finds that the Washington library for the blind and physically handicapped provides services state-wide to sight impaired and physically handicapped persons, and that the leased building that houses the library has been offered for sale by the landlord.  The legislature finds that the current location of the library is best suited for the library services and that forced relocation of the library will disrupt vital services to the citizens of the state.

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.      The sum of one million nine hundred thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 1993, from the state building construction account to the department of general administration for the purpose of acquiring and renovating space for the Washington library for the blind and physically handicapped.
