AN ACT Relating to state park land; adding a new section to chapter 43.51 RCW; creating a new section; and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.      The legislature finds that it may be desirable for the state parks and recreation commission to sell existing park land that the commission is closing because of budgetary constraints.  It is intended that the sale of this land to a city or county will keep the land available for public access.

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 43.51 RCW to read as follows:

The commission may sell real property or interests in real property to a city or county for one dollar.  The conveyance shall contain a reversionary interest held by the commission that takes effect if the property is ever used for any purpose other than a public park.

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 3.      This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
