Read first time 1/25/91. Pertaining to a memorial service for former members of the House of Representatives and Senate.


     WHEREAS, Former members of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the State of Washington have passed from this life during the past two years; and

     WHEREAS, It has been the custom that each Legislature hold memorial services in order to pay fitting tribute to these valued public servants and to express sympathy to their bereaved families;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the House of Representatives of the State of Washington, the Senate concurring, That in recognition of their legislative service the Senate and the House shall meet in Joint Session in the House Chamber on Friday, February 22, 1991, at one thirty in the afternoon, and that their bereaved families be invited to attend appropriate observances for these distinguished former members of the legislature;

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That three members of the House of Representatives, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, together with three Senators, to be appointed by the President of the Senate, act as a joint committee to arrange for these memorial services.
