     AN ACT Relating to campaign contributions; and adding a new section to chapter 42.17 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 42.17 RCW to read as follows:

     During the period beginning on the fifteenth day before the date a regular legislative session convenes and continuing thirty days past the date of final adjournment, and during the period beginning on the date a special legislative session convenes and continuing through the date that session adjourns, no state-wide official, state legislator, or any person employed by a state-wide official or state legislator may solicit or accept contributions to a public office fund, a candidate campaign fund, or to retire a campaign debt.
