     AN ACT Relating to school construction; adding a new section to chapter 82.32 RCW; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.      The intent of this act is to provide replacement funds for school construction at a time when the traditional sources of funding are decreasing due to lower timber harvesting.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 82.32 RCW to read as follows:

     The department shall deposit into the common school construction fund moneys collected under chapters 82.08 and 82.12 RCW in excess of six million five hundred thousand dollars in any fiscal year from out-of-state sellers on sales to persons or entities in this state through direct mail advertising, unsolicited distribution of catalogues, computer-assisted shopping, telephone, television, radio or other electronic media, or magazine, newspaper, or other print media advertisements.
