AN ACT Relating to metropolitan park districts; and adding a new section to chapter 35.61 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 35.61 RCW to read as follows:
(1) Before the next election for commissioners of the metropolitan park district of Tacoma, the current board of commissioners for the metropolitan park district of Tacoma shall divide the district into five electoral districts so that each electoral district shall comprise as nearly as possible one-fifth of the population of the metropolitan park district of Tacoma. The lines of the electoral districts shall not be changed more than once every five years and only when a full board of commissioners is present. The electoral districts shall be designated as districts numbered one, two, three, four, and five.
(2) In all elections for commissioners of the metropolitan park district of Tacoma, one commissioner shall be elected from each electoral district.
