HB 1477 - DIGEST

 

      Requires an employer that intends to implement a reduction in business operations to provide notice at least sixty days before the reduction.

      Directs the business and job retention program to complete an assessment of alternatives to reduction that would maintain the existing level of employment.

      Provides an opportunity for the employees or the community to exercise the right of first refusal to acquire the company.

      Provides for sanctions against a company failing to issue the notice as required.
