BACKGROUND:

 

The Washington Clean Indoor Air Act does not give specific authority to the owners of buildings to regulate smoking within the private enclosed workspaces.  It has been suggested that the building owners should have the specific authority to regulate smoking within their buildings.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The owner of a building may regulate smoking in the private enclosed work spaces within his or her building.
