BACKGROUND:

The Center for Volunteerism and Citizen Service supports, promotes and enhances the ethic of citizen service throughout the state.  In 1993 a collaborative program was established which permits a volunteer organization and an individual to assist a public agency in attending to at-risk children.

SUMMARY:

In addition to at-risk children, senior citizens are included as an at-risk population to be benefited by the collaborative volunteer program established by the act.
