Establishing well drilling fees.


          AN ACT Relating to well drilling; and adding a new section to chapter 18.104 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 18.104 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) For each new well that is established, a well fee shall be remitted by the water well contractor to the department along with the well report required under RCW 18.104.050 as follows:

          (a) For a new water well with a minimum top casing diameter of less than twelve inches, one hundred dollars;

          (b) For a new water well with a minimum top casing diameter of twelve inches or greater, two hundred dollars;

          (c) For a new resource protection, observation, or monitoring well, or for a geotechnical soil boring, one hundred dollars for the first well or boring and fifty dollars for each additional well or boring at the same site; or

          (d) For construction and decommissioning a dewatering well, one hundred dollars for the first well and fifty dollars for each additional dewatering well at the same site.

          (2) Fees shall be paid by check or money order.  Cash shall not be accepted.
