Prohibiting unauthorized liquefied petroleum gas container use.


          AN ACT Relating to liquefied petroleum gas containers; adding a new section to chapter 78.52 RCW; and prescribing penalties.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 78.52 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) A person may not sell, install, fill, refill, deliver or permit to be delivered, or use in any manner a liquefied petroleum gas container unless the container is owned by the person or the container's use is authorized by the owner of the container.

          (2) Upon a determination that a defendant has violated subsection (1) of this section, the court shall fine the defendant not less than five hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars for the first offense and not less than one thousand dollars nor more than five thousand dollars for a second or subsequent offense.
