Requiring the joint administrative rules review committee to study rules adopted by the departments of ecology and labor and industries.


          AN ACT Relating to review of administrative rules adopted by the department of ecology and the department of labor and industries; and creating a new section.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  The joint administrative rules review committee shall conduct a study of all rules, both existing and proposed, adopted by the department of ecology and the department of labor and industries.  The committee shall focus the study on:  (1) The number and (2) the type and content with particular emphasis on complexity, of rules that are proposed or adopted.  The committee shall analyze the information gathered with the objective of recommending strategies to reduce the number and simplify the content of the rules filed by these two agencies.  The committee shall report to the appropriate standing committees of the house of representatives and the senate by January 1, 1994, recommendations on how to achieve this objective.
