Allowing permits for practice fire suppression.



    AN ACT Relating to fire protection district authorities; adding a new section to chapter 52.12 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 70.94 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 52.12 RCW to read as follows:

    A fire protection district that has adopted a resolution assuming the authority to issue burning permits under RCW 52.12.101 may issue up to two permits a year authorizing the district's fire fighters to practice fire suppression activities on the controlled burning of structures located within the fire protection district.

    Notwithstanding chapter 70.94 RCW, the board of fire commissioners may provide for any air pollution controls on the controlled burns that it finds are in the public interest, but permits shall not authorize burns to be conducted during the months of May through September in any year.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 70.94 RCW to read as follows:

    This chapter shall not apply to section 1 of this act.
