Declaring that tax return information provided for the purpose of determining a parent's child support obligation is presumed to be accurate.

          AN ACT Relating to verification of parents' income for purposes of calculating child support; and adding a new section to chapter 26.19 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 26.19 RCW to read as follows:

          Income information appearing on tax returns provided to verify a parent's income for purposes of calculating child support shall be presumed to be accurate.  If a party challenges the accuracy of tax return information and does not prevail, that party shall be liable for additional attorneys' fees incurred by the other party in defending the challenge.
