Concerning assessed valuation by a county appraiser.


          AN ACT Relating to counties; amending RCW 36.21.070; and declaring an emergency.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

        Sec. 1.  RCW 36.21.070 and 1989 c 246 s 3 are each amended to read as follows:

          Upon receipt of a copy of a building permit, the county assessor shall((, within twelve months of the date of issue of such permit,)) either proceed to make a physical appraisal of the building or buildings covered by the permit, or establish an initial assessed valuation based on the cost of construction adjusted to one hundred percent of true and fair value for the building or buildings covered by the permit.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
