Authorizing funds for state agency buildings.

          AN ACT Relating to the capital budget; adding a new section to chapter 233, Laws of 1992 (uncodified); and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 233, Laws of 1992 (uncodified) to read as follows:

        FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

          (1) The department of general administration may enter into a financial contract in the principal amount of $36,628,000 plus financing costs and required reserves pursuant to chapter 39.94 RCW.  This amount is for the acquisition of land and a building located in Tukwila that will be used for state agencies.

          (2) The department of general administration may enter into a financial contract in the principal amount of $24,800,000 plus financing costs and required reserves pursuant to chapter 39.94 RCW.  This amount is for the acquisition of land and a building located in Yakima, and for development of a Yakima Government Service Center that will be used for state agencies.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
