SB 5637 - DIGEST

     Encourages the creation of school site-based councils where parents, staff, community members, and age-appropriate students will join to make decisions regarding the operation of the schools.

     Authorizes the councils to apply for funding to provide resources for restructuring their educational programs.

     Provides for reasonable employee leave time to promote participation in school site-based councils.

     Repeals RCW 28A.240.010, 28A.240.020, and 28A.240.030.

     Makes an appropriation of ninety-eight thousand dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.
