     On page 55, line 5, strike "30,419,000" and insert "33,856,000"

     On page 55, line 9, strike "70,564,000" and insert "74,001,000"

     On page 57, after line 4, insert:

     "(i) $3,437,000 of the general fund-state is provided for grants for magnet schools to be distributed as recommended by the superintendent pursuant to section 516(13), chapter 232, Laws of 1992."

EFFECT:  Provides funding for Magnet Schools at the level appropriated for 1993-95.  5 districts were awarded grants in 1993-95.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Increases General Fund-State by $3,437,000.
