     On page 2, line 11, after "(A)" strike all material through "department" on line 13 and insert "Pregnant"

 

     On page 2, line 22, after "department." strike "Recipients" and insert "After July 1, 1995, recipients"

 

     On page 2, line 24, after "period." strike all material through "skills." on line 27

 

     On page 2, line 24, after "period"  insert ", except for recipients of the general assistance-unemployable with expedited categorically medical program"

 

     On page 7, after line 33, insert the following:

     "NEW SECTION.  Sec.2.  The legislative office on performance audit and fiscal analysis shall study the General Assistance-Unemployable eligibility process, including whether vocational factors such as age, education level, and work experience should be used to determine eligibility.  The office shall report the findings and conclusions of the study to the appropriate fiscal committees of the senate and house of representatives by January 8, 1996."


 

Amend the title accordingly.

 

 

 

EFFECT:  Restores current eligibility for General Assistance for pregnant women.  Retains a 12 month limit in a consecutive 36 month period. Exempts recipients of the GA-U expected to qualify for SSI from the time limit.  Requires the legislative office on performance audit and fiscal analysis to study eligibility procedures for the GA-U program.
