     On page 3, line 30 of the amendment, after "(e)" strike all material through "schools" on line 31 and insert "Meet or exceed the student performance and assessment standards as established for students in other public schools"

EFFECT:  Requires charter schools to meet or exceed the student performance and assessment standards of other public schools.  Replaces language that required the student performance and assessment standards to be "at least as rigorous."
