SB 6098 ‑ H AMD TO AG COMM AMD (H5263.2) 391

     On page 4, after line 4, insert the following:

      "NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  As of the effective date of this act, the department of ecology may not issue a permit for a municipal solid waste landfill facility that is above a sole source aquifer located in western Washington. 

NEW SECTION. Sec. 4.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately."

     Renumber remaining sections consecutively, correct internal references accordingly, and correct the title.

EFFECT:  Prohibits the Department of Ecology from issuing a permit for certain landfills above a sole source aquifer located in western Washington.
