    On page 6, after line 18 of the committee amendment, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  The department of revenue shall perform a study of the impact of exempting intangible property under this act and report to the appropriate legislative fiscal committees by December 1, 1998.  The study shall address both the extent of tax burden shifts to other taxpayers and the revenue losses incurred by state and local government due to the exemption of intangible property in this act."

    Renumber the sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
