HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 95-4660, by Representatives Dyer and B. Thomas

 

      WHEREAS, It is the policy of the Washington State Legislature to recognize excellence in contribution and service to the great state of Washington; and

      WHEREAS, Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services has exhibited excellence in service to the citizens of the great state of Washington by providing exemplary health care services; and

      WHEREAS, Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services has provided outstanding health care service in King County since 1986, employing over 220 health care professionals who have tirelessly and selflessly served over 1500 patients with great skill, compassion, and care; and

      WHEREAS, Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services provides variant high quality health care services, including demanding, challenging, and specialized areas such as mental health care, expertly treating conditions such as Alzheimer's disease; and

      WHEREAS, Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services serves as a beacon of community responsiveness, involvement, and commitment, exemplified by the providing of employment opportunities for those individuals with developmental disabilities, illustrated as well by the crafting and implementation of a unique outreach program that provides residential health care and education for senior citizens that helps to maintain and extend independent lifestyles and personal freedoms, and was also the first such facility to provide Medicare-certified residential health care in the great state of Washington; and

      WHEREAS, Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services serves as a distinguished clinic instructional facility wherein pharmacological and nursing students from Seattle University, Bellevue Community College, Lake Washington Technical College, and the University of Washington receive highly valued instruction, training, and practical experience; and

      WHEREAS, Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services has earned well-deserved community and professional recognition for its exemplary service and contribution by being awarded the highest possible ratings from the Department of Health and Human Services the past four consecutive years, being the only similar facility to achieve such prominent and unprecedented performance and standing;

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the state of Washington honor the excellence in service and contribution by Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services and its staff and for the example of inspiration that it has set for others; and

      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to Marianwood Extended Healthcare Services.
