HB 1479 - DIGEST

 

     Establishes criteria for a declaration of an impasse over designation of airport sites by the transportation commission, which may then refer the issue to the airport siting council.

     Directs the transportation commission to declare an impasse by July 1, 1995, regarding the search for a supplemental airport in the Puget Sound region.

     Authorizes the governor to accept or reject the council's recommendation within sixty days.

     Allows the legislature to invalidate the governor's decision if two-thirds of each house votes to object.

     Makes an appropriation of five hundred thousand dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.
