HB 1631 - DIGEST

 

     Creates the international education and exchange council.

     Authorizes the council to establish a private, nonprofit corporation to foster international education and cultural exchanges.

     Authorizes a pilot project to furnish developing international trading partners with technical assistance through voluntary services of Washington residents.

     Declares that funding shall come entirely from nonstate sources.

     Calls for the identification of up to fifteen countries that are of strategic importance to the development of Washington's international trade relations.
