HB 2216 - DIGEST

(SUBSTITUTED FOR - SEE 1ST SUB)

     Designates the responsibilities of the parents in the education of their children.

     Provides that parents have the following rights regarding their children's education:  (1) Access to the classrooms;

     (2) access to student records;

     (3) access to teaching materials;

     (4) participation in advisory groups; and

     (5) access to board meetings.

     Provides that a parent may exclude his child from certain activities.

     Establishes parental notification requirements.

     Provides for the establishment of complaint procedures.

     Repeals RCW 28A.605.010 and 28A.605.020.
