           On page 104, line 25, increase the general fund-state appropriation by $6,737,000

           On page 104, line 26, decrease the general fund-state appropriation by $6,737,000

           On page 104, beginning on line 30, after A(1)@, strike everything through Astaff units.@ on line 32 and insert the following:

           A(a) $412,995,000 is provided for the following salary increases: for state formula classified staff units, an increase of $88.31 per month effective September 1, 1999; for state formula certificated instructional and certificated administrative staff units, an increase of 3 percent effective September 1, 1999, and another increase of 3 percent effective September 1, 2000.@

           On page 105, after line 13, insert:

           A(b) All salary allocation schedules, factors and percentages in sections 503 and 504 shall be adjusted to conform with the amounts identified in subsection (1)(a).@

           Renumber remaining subsections consecutively.

           On page 122, beginning on line 17, strike A3.0 percent on July 1, 1999, and a salary increase of 3.0 percent on July 1, 2000.@ and insert A$110.99 per month on July 1, 1999.@

EFFECT: The salary increases of 3 percent in fiscal year 2000 and 3 percent in fiscal year 2001 provided to classified staff are changed as follows: Classified state employees receive an increase of $135.04 per month effective July 1, 1999.  Classified higher education employees receive an increase of $110.99 per month effective July 1, 1999.  Classified K-12 employees receive an increase of $88.31 per month effective September 1, 1999.

 

FISCAL IMPACT: Total General Fund-State appropriations increase by $26,821,000 in fiscal year 2000 and decrease by the same amount in fiscal year 2001.
