Background:  Currently, colleges and universities may waive the tuition and fees of state employees who attend courses on a space available basis.  These students do not affect enrollment information or budgetary determinations.  County employees do not receive any benefit from this waiver program.

 

Summary of Bill:  Permanent county employees are added to the list of individuals who may attend college and university courses under the waiver program on a space available basis.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
