Background:  The Growth Management Act requires that multicounty planning policies must be adopted by two or more counties, each with a population of 450,000 or more, with contiguous urban areas and may be adopted by other counties.

 

Summary of Substitute Bill:  Any legislators whose districts are, in whole or in part, within the counties which adopt multicounty planning policies are considered ex officio, nonvoting members of the regional growth management policy board for these counties.

 

Substitute Bill Compared to Original Bill:  The substitute makes grammatical corrections.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Requested on January 31, 2000.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
