Background:  The Insurance Commissioner is authorized to exempt insurance documents or forms from the filing requirements of one section of Chapter 48.18 RCW, "the insurance contract."  There is concern that the commissioner's inability to exempt forms from filing requirements in other sections of Chapter 48.18 may lead to inefficiencies.

 

Summary of Bill:  The Insurance Commissioner may exempt insurance documents or forms by order or rule from the filing requirements of Chapter 48.18.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Requested on January 28, 2000.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
