Brief Description:  Creating an employment standards task force.

Background:  State wage and hour laws have not been studied recently.

 

Summary of Bill:  State wage and hour laws are studied by an employment standards task force.  The findings and recommendations of the task force are reported by the Department of Labor and Industries to the commerce and labor committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives by December 1, 1999.

 

The task force is led by the department and composed of four legislators.  The task force works in conjunction with an advisory committee composed of three business representatives, three labor representatives, and one representative from the department's Employment Standards Division.
