HB 2386 - DIGEST

 

     Declares that individuals who are eligible for medicare are eligible to enroll in the basic health plan as a subsidized enrollee if the individual:  (1) Pays all or a portion of medicare part A premiums in order to receive medicare part A coverage;

     (2) demonstrates that the individual or his or her spouse worked for an employer who did not provide contributions to social security on behalf of the individual or his or her spouse, and as a result the individual is not eligible to receive premium-free medicare part A coverage; and

     (3) meets the eligibility criteria established by the administrator under RCW 70.47.060(16).

     Provides that the act shall be null and void if appropriations are not approved.
