HB 3147 - DIGEST

 

     Requires the office to:  (1) Review and analyze proposed and enacted international trade agreements and provide an assessment of the impact of a proposed agreement on Washington businesses and firms;

     (2) study the social and environmental impact of proposed and enacted trade agreements and report to the governor and appropriate committees of the legislature on the office's findings;

     (3) work with the international trade division of the department of community, trade, and economic development and the international marketing program of the department of agriculture to develop a state-wide trade strategy designed to increase the export of Washington goods and services, particularly goods and services from small and medium-sized businesses and women and minority business enterprises; and

     (4) conduct other activities the governor deems necessary to promote international trade within the state.
