SB 5385 - DIGEST

(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

     Provides for submission of a petition for an order of dissolution signed by at least two-thirds of the legislative bodies who have representatives on the district governing body for an order of dissolution to the superior court of a county of the district.  All of the signatures must have been collected within one hundred twenty days of the date of submission to the court.

     Declares that the procedures for dissolution provided in RCW 53.48.030 through 53.48.120 shall apply, except that the balance of any assets, after payment of all costs and expenses, shall be divided among the county or counties and component cities of the district on a per capita basis.

     Declares that any duties to be performed by a county official pursuant to RCW 53.48.030 through 53.48.120 shall be performed by the relevant official of the county in which the petition for dissolution is filed.
