Title:  An act relating to mental health service performance measures.

 

Brief Description:  Creating performance measures to evaluate the community mental health service delivery system.

Background:  Sections 5, 6, and 7 of SHB 1650 were vetoed by the Governor when he signed SHB 1650 into law.

 

Summary of Bill:  New sections 1, 2 and 3 of  HB 2264 incorporate the provisions of sections 5, 6, and 7 which were vetoed in SHB 1650.  These sections require the Department of Social and Health Services to develop performance measures to evaluate and manage community mental health services.  Evaluation criteria are enumerated.  Every regional support network and mental health services provider shall be evaluated under these criteria.  The department must provide an annual report regarding the performance measures  to the appropriate legislative committees.  A null and void clause is contained in the last section.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
