Background:  The Salmon Recovery Funding Board is statutorily required to provide two grant evaluation cycles annually.

 

The board advocates that one grant cycle per year is more effective than two.

 

Summary of Bill:  The Salmon Recovery Funding Board funding evaluation must occur once per year.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For:  Two funding cycles per year requires salmon recovery lead entities to spend a significant portion of the year competing for grants.
