Background:  Under current law, an injured worker can choose his or her own health provider, including a chiropractor, to provide treatment.  Upon receiving a notice of accident, the Department of Labor and Industries must notify a worker of his or her rights as an injured worker.

 

Summary of Bill:  The Department of Labor and Industries must include the fact that a worker may choose his or her health provider, including a chiropractor, in the notification of injured worker rights.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Requested on February 8, 2001.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
