HB 1318 - DIGEST

 

     Declares that a person may be ordered to obtain involuntary outpatient treatment under chapter 71.05 RCW if the court finds that the person:

     (1) Has had more than two involuntary inpatient or outpatient detentions within the last twenty-four months;

     (2) Is suffering from a severe mental disorder;

     (3) Is capable of surviving safely in the community with supervision;

     (4) Based on treatment history and current behavior, is now in need of treatment in order to prevent a relapse or deterioration that would predictably result in the person becoming imminently dangerous or in need of hospitalization;

     (5) Is unable to make an informed decision to seek or comply with recommended treatment; and

     (6) Has a reasonable prospect that outpatient treatment will be beneficial.
