On page 170, after line 29, insert the following:

"(13) $500,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 2005 is provided solely for the establishment of an endowment to support a professor of Korea studies in the Jackson school of international studies. This amount is contingent on receipt of $1,500,000 of nonstate matching funds. If the nonstate funds are not received by June 30, 2005, the amount provided in this subsection shall lapse."

EFFECT: Appropriates $500,000 of the state general fund to establish an endowment to support a professor of Korea studies in the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. The funding is contingent on receipt of $1,500,000 of nonstate matching funds. If the nonstate funds are not received by June 30, 2005, the funding provided lapses.
