Background: The State Treasurer and other agencies currently may accept donations from citizens on an ad hoc basis. There is no formalized procedure or account for this.

 

Summary of Bill: The Tax-Me-More account is established in the state treasury for the deposit of voluntary monetary contributions, donations, gifts, bequests, grants, or other monies. Money from this account may be spent only by appropriation and for any general fund or transportation purpose.

 

Appropriation: None.

 

Fiscal Note: Not requested.

 

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
