Background: Gubernatorial appointees subject to Senate confirmation can serve unless rejected by a vote of the Senate.

 

Summary of Bill: A gubernatorial appointee subject to Senate confirmation and not yet confirmed can serve only until rejected by a vote of the Senate or until the conclusion of the second regularly scheduled legislative session after his or her appointment.

 

Appropriation: None.

 

Fiscal Note: Not requested.

 

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
