Brief Description: Recodifying and making technical corrections to public disclosure law.

Background:

During the 2005 legislative session, a bill was enacted to recodify, amend, and reorganize the public records disclosure statutes as a new chapter in state law, to be cited as the Public Records Act (Act). Exemptions from public disclosure were reorganized into separate sections in the Act. The Act takes effect July 1, 2006.

Summary:

Public records disclosure exemptions enacted in 2005 are recodified into the new Public Records Act.
