On page 2, beginning on line 18, after "schools," strike "holding or seeking a valid endorsement and assignment in a state-identified shortage area" and insert "for the purposes of meeting their continuing education requirements"
EFFECT: Qualifications for which teachers and instructional staff are considered state employees for purposes of this tuition waiver are changed. The qualification that the teacher or staff hold or be seeking "an endorsement and assignment in a state-identified shortage area" is removed. Instead, state employees will include: "Teachers and other certificated instructional staff employed at public common and vocational schools, for the purposes of meeting their continuing education requirements."
