On page 11, after line 20, insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 12 This act expires on the date a county with
a population of one million five hundred thousand or more or any city
within the county imposes a tax, fee, or other charge on the use of
shopping bags.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 13 A county with a population of one million
five hundred thousand or more or any city within the county that
imposes a tax, fee, or other charge on the use of shopping bags must
provide notice of the expiration date in section 12 of this act to the
appropriate fiscal committees of the legislature, the office of the
code reviser, and others as deemed appropriate by the county or
cities."
Correct the title.
EFFECT: Expires the act if a county with a population of one million five hundred thousand or more or a city within the county imposes any type of charge on shopping bags. Requires notice of the contingent expiration date to the legislature.
